Climate change and sustainability are key challenges for the lubricant industry and hits the lubricants industry in its core. But what is the right approach to a sustainable business? What will be the impact on the lubricant value chain? Countries, key customers, and OEMs requiring for climate neutral products and specific data for carbon foot printing. But how can we secure that reliable and comparable carbon footprint values can be calculated in a competitive environment? What are the pitfalls? The German Lubricant Manufacturers association is working in close collaboration with industry associations, OEMs, institutions, and others to establish a sustainability concept for carbon footprint calculation of finished lubricants at a precompetitive level.
