Back by popular demand, the 2025 STLE Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference will move beyond electric vehicles to explore the larger e-mobility field.

Since we first began offering it in 2021, the STLE Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference has become a widely anticipated event, offering industry professionals the opportunity to attend educational sessions and networking discussions with leading experts and companies with an interest in e-mobility. As Hyeok Hahn, chair of the 2024 STLE E-Mobility Conference Planning Committee, summarizes of last year’s conference, “The event fostered a vibrant environment for industry professionals to exchange insights and solutions, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and innovation. The discussions and innovations from the conference will undoubtedly influence and shape the future of electric mobility, underscoring the industry’s commitment to progress and sustainability.”1

The 2025 STLE Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference will take place Nov. 19-21 at the Detroit Marriott Troy in Troy, Mich. Registration is now open at www.stle.org/EMobility, and you won’t want to miss out on the newest updates to this popular event.

The rapidly evolving e-mobility landscape provides exciting updates to the cutting-edge technical content each year, and for 2025 we’ve updated the technical program to reflect the most recent trends impacting the industry. We’ve introduced two new technical tracks that reflect the most cutting-edge developments: Test Methods and Tribological Development and Battery and Charging Hardware. The e-mobility landscape is now about more than just electric vehicles, and our technical program will reflect this broadened market for innovation.

Who attends the STLE Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference? Attendees of last year’s event were primarily working in research and development or product design (44%), engineering (13%) and technical services (9%), with the remaining 34% made up of a diverse group of chemists, government researchers, lubricant end-users, sales and marketing representatives and more. Located in the Detroit area, which is central to many OEMs, this year’s conference is sure to once again attract a wide range of leading experts and companies in the industry.

OEM participation in the conference is also highlighted through the keynote speaker lineup. Mike Bunce, head of research and head of design and analysis at Dumarey USA, will present Challenges and Opportunities in Hydrogen Propulsion Development. Our other keynote speakers include Peter Björklund, technical manager for Drivetrain and ePropulsion oils, EMC Solutions and EM Testing with Traton Sweden AB, and Dr. Felix Leach,
award-winning author of “Racing Toward Zero” about decarbonizing transportation rapidly and “Critical Mass” about the negative impacts of ever-heavier vehicles, from the University of Oxford.Visit www.stle.org/EMobility for updates as we announce more details about their presentations.
