A year in motion

As we wrap up the STLE in Motion campaign, we invite you to keep sharing your industry journey with STLE.

At the beginning of the 2024-2025 fiscal year in July 2024, STLE staff created the STLE in Motion theme to engage with the STLE community on social media to track and showcase various organizational activities throughout the year. The theme signified our commitment to progress—not as a destination, but as a perpetual state of movement. The STLE community stepped up to the challenge all year long, using the hashtag #STLEinmotion on social media as they attended conferences, volunteered with local sections, participated in networking events and more. 

As we approach the end of the campaign, the #STLEinmotion hashtag has been used in over 120 posts across various social media channels. Thank you to all the members of the STLE community who used the hashtag this past year! It has been great to see where STLE has taken you. As we wrap up this successful fiscal year, concluding with the STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Atlanta, Ga., we invite you to keep moving with STLE in the upcoming one. Here are some of the events that will keep STLE in motion through the remainder of 2025.

Virtual Symposium: Application of Tribology in Astronautics—this summer’s virtual program will bring together leaders in the astronautics field for two half-day discussions on July 29 and 30, covering topics including a broad design of astronautics tribology applications, current challenges, perspectives from government labs and corporate entities and the latest developments impacting the astronautics lubricants industry. Tribology Frontiers Conference: Pushing Boundaries in Tribology & Lubrication—join us Oct. 14-16 at Argonne National Laboratory as researchers from around the world convene to share their cutting-edge work and network with peers in a relaxed environment. This year’s conference focuses on the interdisciplinary role of tribology at the interface of physics, chemistry, materials science and mechanical engineering. Tribology & Lubrication for E-Mobility Conference—back by popular demand, this year’s conference in Troy, Mich., Nov. 19-21, will expand to more sustainable mobility topics and advanced propulsion systems while also featuring the latest in electric vehicle technology and lubrication. New topic areas for 2025 include base stock, additives and lubricant formulation; battery and charging hardware; and advanced propulsion systems.
