Print and digital

Whichever your preference, TLT is here for you.

Magazine distribution has seen changes in the past few years—and even decades.

Print magazines—and print content in general—seemed to make a comeback in 2020. Sometimes it’s nice to shut off our brains, turn off our devices, and read a book or magazine. There’s something relaxing about sitting on your couch with a cup of coffee while reading physical content. I’ll always love the smell of a good book, too.

Many people have experienced digital burnout, which means feeling tired or anxious from spending too much time on digital platforms or devices. Years ago, I went on a vacation overseas and decided not to pay for an international data plan, so I unplugged for a week. It was definitely a refreshing feeling.

There are many positives to both print and digital content. For print, it’s exciting to get physical mail delivered to your mailbox every day. You can mark pages and highlight sections without straining your eyes. I find it easier to read print compared to staring at a screen for long periods of time. As an STLE member, you receive the print edition of TLT, plus dozens of benefits and services that can make a tangible difference for you and your organization. I know I look forward to receiving my TLT each month.

For digital, it’s quicker and easier to access. STLE also offers the digital TLT, an exact replica of the print version. It’s delivered to your email inbox quicker and offers both desktop and mobile-friendly versions (called page and contents views) depending on the device you are using. You can click on links, articles and ads for quicker access.

Along with the digital TLT, STLE has the TLT Archives on www.stle.org . If there’s a specific article you want to find but don’t know the title, type the topic in the Keyword Search box in the upper right corner. You can search by writer and topic as well. I personally use it a lot when I want to find a previous article. It’s a great searchable reference tool. You can find articles through popular search engines like Google and Yahoo as well.

Both the digital TLT and TLT Archives can be accessed via desktops, laptops, tablets or mobile devices. In both versions, you can access TLT articles dating back to 2009. TLT’s reach extends even further with these digital editions—and it’s easier to share articles with colleagues, too.

Magazine distribution has seen changes in the past few years—and even decades. STLE has the print version, digital TLT and TLT Archives. It just depends on your preference. Thanks for reading TLT, whichever version you prefer!
