STLE Presidential Awards Program

STLE has available two academic awards through its Presidential Awards Program, the E. Richard Booser Scholarship for undergraduate students and the E. Elmer Klaus Fellowship for graduate students.

These awards are administered by the STLE Presidential Council, and are meant to encourage students to pursue an advanced degree or a career in tribology or lubrication engineering by subsidizing a research project related to the field

Application Process:

  • Applications are filed using the appropriate STLE Presidential Awards Program Form.
  • Include a letter of endorsement on official school letterhead, signed by the faculty advisor.
  • A current transcript including grade point average.
  • The research should be completed within one year following receipt of the award.
  • The deadline for submissions is October 1
  • Award recipients will be notified no later than March 1.

Reporting Requirement:
The student is expected to prepare a report when the work is complete, summarizing the research and the value of the experience in providing incentive for further course work, research, or a career in tribology or lubrication engineering.
