TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTY OF A NEW WEAR-RESISTANT BELT MATERIAL UNDER THE EXTENDED REACH WELL CONDITION

During the drilling process of extended reach wells, the causing heavy loss made by the casing wear and drill-pipe wear problems are serious, which would bring forward higher requirements to the wear-resistant belt material in drill joint. In order to reduce the wear, a new wear-resistant belt material made of polycrystalline diamond is developed, which is important to the study of the extended reach well wear technology. The friction and wear behavior of the new wear-resistant belt material in drill joint under the extended reach well condition was investigated in detail and compared with common wear-resistant belt that under the lubrication of water-based drilling fluid in this study, which, hopefully, is to provide guidance to the tribological application of wear-resistant belt in drill joint under the extended reach well condition.
