A Novel Multiple Cutting Fluid Dispensing System for Sustainable Manufacturing

Minimizing the use of cutting fluids in manufacturing is an important challenge. However, complete elimination of the cooling and lubricating functions of a cutting fluid is untenable for most applications. Alternatives such as minimum quantity lubrication have severe limitation. In response to these limitations, the author has developed a novel fluid delivery system that dispenses multiple fluids (coolants as well as lubricants) independent of each other at different targeted locations in machining operations.
