Influence of Calcium Sulfonate on Wet Clutch Durability

Wet clutches are used for the power transmission device of dual clutch transmission unit. Shudder is often caused by improper clutch friction characteristics. Undesirable clutch friction characteristic shows generally higher static friction coefficient and lower dynamic friction coefficient. Then calcium detergent has an impact on clutch friction characteristic involving higher static friction coefficient and lower dynamic friction coefficient. In this study, the influence of calcium detergents on clutch durability was investigated.
