Decreasing fuel consumption in automotive engines is an important enabler for improving vehicle fuel economy to meet customer wants and regulatory requirements. Engine friction constitutes a significant part of the total energy losses. The webinar will focus on energy losses in a vehicle and in particular, the frictional losses from critical engine systems. The lubrication regimes of these systems will be reviewed and some of actions could be taken for friction reduction. Industry trends towards reducing engine friction will be reviewed.
