STLE 2020 Annual Meeting & Exhibition Status Update

Dear Industry Professional,

On March 3, 1944, a lubricant executive named Walter D. Hodson and a group of his peers incorporated the American Society of Lubrication Engineers in Chicago. Forty-three years later, the organization they created would rename itself the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers.

On behalf of all STLE members, I’d like to salute our founding fathers on this milestone anniversary. The seed they planted grew into a technical organization that has led the lubricants industry for seven decades and advanced the careers of thousands of members. STLE’s standing in the lubricants industry is so strong that simply being a member confers instant credibility upon an individual and his or her organization.

STLE is celebrating its diamond anniversary with a festive celebration at the 2021 STLE Annual Meeting in New Orleans. All STLE individual and corporate members will have an opportunity to participate in the celebrations.

If you are an STLE member, our board thanks you for your support. We pledge to continue creating services that advance your technical education and develop your professional skills.

If you are not an STLE member, I invite you to join our community. You’ll soon learn why members say STLE is big enough to make a difference but small enough to be personal.

I look forward to seeing you in New Orleans next May!

Paul Hetherington
2020-2021 STLE President
Petro-Canada Lubricants

P.S. There simply is no substitute for the face-to-face networking that occurs at STLE events. I can tell you from personal experience that STLE helps forge the kinds of friendships and professional relationships that can last a lifetime.
