The latest in off-line filtration technology was installed and successfully tested on a coal pulverizer gearbox lube oil system at a coal-fired power plant in S.W. Wyoming; this paper offers an insight into the power plant's need to address contamination related failures in their coal pulverizer systems and how the off-line unit was tested and met all beta site test criteria to provide certain cost saving benefits.
