Title: Effects of Monoacylglycerols on the Cold Flow Behavior of Biodiesel
Present: Dr. Robert Dunn from NCAUR – USDA
Abstract: Biodiesel may contain traces of unconverted monoacylglycerols (MAG). The relatively low solubility of MAG in biodiesel may cause them to form solid residues when the fuel is stored at low temperatures. The present study is an evaluation of how MAG affects the kinematic viscosity and cold filter plugging point (CFPP) of biodiesel from soybean, canola, and palm oils. Please join us for an interesting biodiesel discussion.
