Thursday, June 28, 2012
All Day Event
This is the fourth special symposium on "Surfactants in Tribology" and is being organized as part of the 19th International Symposium on Surfactants in Solution (SIS-2012) to be held at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, during June 24-28, 2012.
Surfactants in Tribology
A Special Symposium at
the 19th International Symposium on Surfactants in Solution
University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 24-28, 2012
The fourth special symposium on "Surfactants in Tribology" is being organized as part of the 19th International Symposium on Surfactants in Solution (SIS-2012) to be held at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, during June 24-28, 2012.
Papers on the entire range of amphiphilic materials, from simple polar organic materials (alcohols, thiols, etc) to ionic liquids and surfactants (anionic, cationic, zwitterionc) is being solicited. The symposium will include invited and contributed papers by distinguished scientists worldwide.
The special symposium will cover a wide range of topics dealing with recent advances related to both tribology and surface science. Among the topics of interest are the role of surfactants in such tribological phenomena as: friction, wear, adsorption, tribochemistry, surface/interfacial interactions, emulsification, demulsfication, bioresistance, oxidation, corrosion. etc. Of special interest are papers dealing with recent advances in the role of surfactants in the tribology of: SAMs, MEMS, NEMS, manufacturing, automotive, rail, light and heavy machinery. Papers dealing with theoretical, experimental, as well as technological advances are solicited.
The SIS series of biennial events made its debut in 1976 and since then have been held in many corners of the globe and have been attended by “who is who” in surfactant community. These meetings are recognized by the international community as the premier forum for discussing the latest research findings on surfactants in solution.
Deadline for online abstract submission is March 15, 2012. Click here for more information.
