Speaker: Kellie Work, The Lubrizol Corporation
The operating environment for hydraulic oils has become increasingly severe over the past several years. Conversely there have been relatively few changes to existing OEM specifications and approvals over this time span. Now, Bosch Rexroth has formally recognized the need for higher performing fluids and has introduced a new specification. Bosch Rexroth announced this new specification during a presentation at the OilDoc Conference and Exhibition on January 22nd, 2013 held in Rosenheim, Bavaria titled “New Fluid Rating Procedure and Fluid Test at Bosch Rexroth”. Bosch Rexroth has replaced their previous requirements with two new tiers of performance known as “Basic Level” and “Premium Level”. This presentation will review the requirements and process to be listed against the “Basic Level” specification and will provide an update on the “Premium Level” specification which is still under development.
