Title: STLE Update
Presenter: Rob Heverly, President of STLE, Vanderbilt Chemical
Abstract: Rob will provide an update on STLE activities; health of the society, end users website, and strategic initiatives we have underway. In addition, Rob will give you some insights on the work he does with Vanderbilt Chemical and specifically a short presentation on additives his company produces/offers.
Bio: Robert D. Heverly is a technical sales representative for Vanderbilt Chemicals LLC and is based in Seabrook, Texas. Rob is currently the STLE President.
Heverly received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and in 1986 he joined the R.T. Vanderbilt Co. Rob joined STLE in 1986 and is active in the society’s Houston Section, where he progressed through the executive chair positions and served as chairman in 1999. He ran the Houston Section’s 1998 Lube School. Beginning in 2003, Rob served two two-year terms on STLE’s Board of Directors serving as the Southwest/Southeast Regional Vice President, a territory that includes Houston, North Texas, Oklahoma, Atlanta and the Carolinas. In 2007 he became STLE’s Membership Committee chair and led a team that rewrote the society’s Local Section Handbook.
In 2000 Rob earned STLE’s prestigious Certified Lubrication Specialist© certification. He also holds the Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist designation issued by the National Lubricating Grease Institute.
Rob, his wife, Betty, and their two children, Angie and Matt, live in Seabrook. When not working or chauffeuring the kids, Rob is probably puttering in his garden or riding one of his prized bicycles.
