Abstract
The webinar will cover the fundamentals governing the process of filtration of hydraulic and lubricating fluids in industrial applications. Differences among various filtration media will be compared and constrasted. Various factors required to be taken into consideration during filter cartridge construction will be delineated and their impact on performance characteristics of filter elements will be described.
Biography
Dr. Duchowski graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. in 1985 and obtained his doctorate at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA in 1990. From 1992 to 2004, he held the positions of Principal Scientist in the Scientific and Laboratory Services Department and Vice President of Technology in the Machinery & Equipment Division at Pall Corporation. In 2005 he moved to HYDAC Technology Corporation where he currently holds the position of Director of Technology Development. His projects focus on the effects of physical and chemical contaminants on the performance of hydraulic and lubricating systems and on the fluids employed in those systems. Dr. Duchowski is a Fellow of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) and an STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist and Oil Monitoring Analyst, Levels I and II.
