STLE Hosts Edgewater High School for Student STEM Camp

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) will host Edgewater High School for its 2nd Annual Student STEM Camp, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 19. The event is at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, as part of STLE’s 69th Annual Meeting & Exhibition.

At the STEM Camp, 40 students from Edgewater High School will have the opportunity to see demonstrations and participate in various hand-on experiments to learn about important areas of research within the fields of tribology and lubrication engineering that includes friction, viscosity, wear, hydrodynamic lubrication, grease, and much more!

During STLE’s 2013 Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Detroit, Michigan, the society launched a successful new outreach program teaching high school students about tribology?the study of friction, wear and lubrication.

STLE’s goal is to reach high school students who have an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and educate them about potential careers in the fields of tribology research and lubrication engineering.
