INFLUENCE OF INHIBITOR'S CHEMISTRY AND STRUCTURE ON ALUMINUM CORROSION IN MWF

This paper summarizes the structure-property-performance relationship of various amine and phosphate anti-corrosion/staining agents in semi-synthetic metalworking fluids. In this study, anti-staining performance of amine and phosphate inhibitors was assessed by aluminum alloy metal compatibility test in a representative semi-synthetic metalworking fluid. And the results were correlated with molecular weights and structures of the inhibitors as well as pH and conductivity of the metalworking fluids containing those inhibitors.
