Straight Oils: From Use to Recycling (Recording)
Straight Oils: From Use to Recycling
Recorded: Monday, December 10th, 2018, presented by Alan Cross

Straight oils cover a broad range of names such as cutting oils, machining oils, and neat oils, but all perform the same function: providing high lubrication levels in metal working operations. Straight oils have been used from the early 1900's to today in machining operations where the higher load-carrying capacity of an oil is required or where water diluted products, such as coolants cannot be used. Straight oils, like most fluids can fail by different mechanisms, but can also be reused and recycled to greatly extend their service life.

This webinar will cover the applications where straight oils are used, the different types of straight oils, the failure mechanisms of oils, and methods for oil recycling.
