The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) is an international professional membership association dedicated to the study of interacting moving surfaces. Improving the performance of equipment and products, conserving resources and protecting the environment through tribological advances is the mission of the society.

What are the official dates of the 2018 STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition?
The official STLE meeting dates are Sunday, May 20 to Thursday, May 24, 2018. Full-day education courses are offered on two days beginning at 8 am: Sunday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 23. The Trade Show Exhibition runs Monday, May 21 to Wednesday, May 23.
Where will the 2018 STLE Annual Meeting & Exhibition be held?
The meeting venue is the Minneapolis Convention Center, located at 1301 Second Ave. S, Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. The primary meeting hotels to reserve sleeping rooms are the Hilton Minneapolis (Headquarters hotel) and the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. Hotel registration is now open, as rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. April 18, 2018, is the cutoff deadline to make hotel reservations. When does registration open?

What does my Annual Meeting registration fee include?
Full conference registration includes access to all of the technical sessions, including Commercial Marketing Forum (Monday through Thursday), admission to the Trade Show Exhibition (Monday through Wednesday), Monday evening Networking Reception and Tuesday afternoon President's Luncheon. Education course registration is available at a discounted rate with full annual meeting registration.
What meals are included in the standard Annual Meeting registration?
Annual Meeting registration includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages at the Monday evening Networking Reception, the Tuesday afternoon President's Luncheon, and beverages during the morning and afternoon networking breaks on Monday through Thursday.
When will copies of the Annual Meeting extended abstracts and presentations be available?
Extended abstracts and presentations will be available on the STLE website and the Annual Meeting Mobile App to attendees a few weeks prior to the meeting. It is up to the individual speakers on whether they choose to make their extended abstracts or presentations available to attendees during and after the meeting. Attendees may also contact speakers to see about requesting a copy of their presentations. We encourage speakers to submit extended abstracts and/or digital copies of their presentation slides to benefit attendees interested in a topic or presentation. When will the pre-registration list be available?
The list of all pre-registered attendees will be made available on the STLE website in April 2018 prior to the meeting.
What is the dress code?
Business casual dress is appropriate for STLE events at the annual meeting. Technical session and education course speakers often choose attire that is more formal on the day of their presentation.
Can I take photos or record presentations?
Video, still photography, and audio recording is not permitted in any of the annual meeting technical sessions or Commercial Marketing Forum presentations. Audio recording is permitted in the education courses with advanced permission of the instructor. No video of any kind is permitted. Video or still photography of an exhibitor booth is prohibited, unless permission has been granted by the occupant. The only exception to the statements above is for working press with STLE, provided press registration.
